View this email online

Hello everyone.  I hope you have been tucked away for Winter creating wonderful works of art.

WORKSHOPS

I have been busy planning another 3 day workshop like the one where Jan Miller made this beautiful book.

The workshop will run at Opendrawer in October and November.

The first two days will be in October with a break until the last day. This break will give you time to work on your book.

Perhaps this class could be a special Birthday present

for you or someone else.

Please share this with others who may be interested.

Artists Book 3 Day Workshop

Books and Storage Box

Vade mecum: The Constant Companion

Vade mecum is Latin for 'take me along'

This term applies to any gathering of pages(or book)

which is used on a daily basis and can be carried

on the person for easy reference.

Spend 3 days creating beautiful individual concertina books with attractive additions: envelopes, small books and stitched pockets will be part of your final work.

This book can be a repository for memories of trips past or those just a dream, a companion for the journey.

This wonderful three days will include:

Learning how to make your concertina journal and prepare a          hard cover.  You will be given many ideas for including your    memorabilia.  Envelopes, small books and pockets. These may             be filled with your memories or remain blank for                                                      a future journey.

Making a box or slip case to house your book.

                 *      I also have one place left in the

                               READY SET GO workshop on

Tuesday 15th September at my studio.

PAPERMAKING

Papermaking activities here in my studio have included helping my sister as she created a beautiful Kozo screen for her window. She included seeds & leaves which show as wonderful silhouettes when it is lit from behind.

Now I am creating a bowl or lampshade with the remaining Kozo                                     pulp I made.

My circle paper is ready for our Papermakers of Victoria Year Book project and my entry in the royal Melbourne show is ready for delivery soon.
